Eventually, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him on the role
When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they convinced Harrison Ford to do the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and that he would audition for people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should at least pitch it to Ford first, thinking he would immediately reject it, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been cast in the project, which had piqued the interest of other big-name actors.

Well, I just finished it and it not only met my expectations, it exceeded them
First of all, as soon as I saw Harrison Ford and Jason Segal in the lead roles, I was already going to watch it, but then after reading all the positive reviews and watching the trailer, my excitement grew even more. I’m not saying it’s the best show of the year, but it’s an original and enjoyable comedy that will make you laugh in every episode.
