Miller was denied access to Hitler’s apartment because it was “for officers only”
Scenario

" War correspondents were given the rank of captain, so technically the US Army Guard should have granted him access.

Lee Miller: [Holds knife to girl he just saved from rape] Next time cut it.. The credits have some "what happened" commentary; and some of Lee’s original photographs, often alongside those recreated for the film. I was very excited to see Kate Winslet in this passion project and of course she always does a great job as an actress and the direction is definitely well done and offers a unique perspective on World War II.
The first half also seemed slow-paced and luckily Adam Sandberg brings depth to the Nazi scenes, eg
It’s a shame, though, that to Lee Miller’s beginnings as a model and his artistic entourage, including Picasso and the elite, a brief introduction of the lost Alexander Skars as a Brit with no chemistry or anything unique to add is a shame. It almost seems as if her role was turned down for good reasons, as it was a poor choice and so many really good British actors could have captured their supposed chemistry. to the holocaust, although the bathroom scene was over the top, but without understanding the fashion and elite art crowd that Lee used to associate with, it somehow makes it impossible.
makes sense and makes me feel out of place
Lee was an IT model girl who was super cool and here she comes across as an older boring fashion photographer with little spark or an evolution from an it girl to a WW2 photographer with a similar spark. The worst part of the movie was the son/mother interview scene with a terrible ending that tries to create a synergy between Lee and his past that could have easily been handled better because it felt rushed and out of place. I’ll leave the spoiler out because it’s just a weird ending, but maybe it was meant to leave a few lines of paragraphs to explain the ending.
Go in with minimal expectations and you will enjoy the movie
Regardless, it’s a really great movie and it’s always a pleasure to see Kate Winslet shine as an actress, even if the script falters, it doesn’t detract from the brilliant direction. 7 stars.
